About Cefivba

The in vitro fertilisation centre of the Balearic Islands was founded in 1985 by Bartolomé Darder with Mariano Rosselló, Susana Cañellas, Carles Viader, Rafael Calafell, Juan Antonio Ferrer and José Javier Salvá.

Furthermore, since 2004 our assisted reproduction clinic has been located at the Hospital QuirónSalud Palmaplanas with which we share facilities and medical and surgical equipment (operating theatres, clinical analysis service, pathological anatomy…).

Dr. Bartolomé Darder Andreu, founding member, medical director, gynaecologist.

Dr. Darder studied at the Valladolid Medical School and specialised in obstetrics and gynaecology in London at Saint Nicholas Hospital, Bethnal Green Hospital, British Hospital for Mothers and Babies, Hammersmith Teaching Hospital and Winchester Hampshire Hospital.

He then moved to Spain to continue working as an assistant doctor specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology at Son Dureta Hospital in Palma.

He is a member of the Spanish Fertility Society, the Spanish Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the Spanish Association for the Study of the Menopause and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE).

Dr. Cerdán Darder , gynaecologist

Dr. Cerdán Darder studied medicine at the Faculty of Medicine in Zaragoza and specialised in different hospitals in the south of England, such as Heartland’s in Birmingham, Saint Michael’s in Bristol and Medway Maritime Hospital, among others.

After five years as a resident at different levels, he obtained the equivalence credential from the Ministry of Education, i.e. the title of specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

He is a member of the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics and the Spanish Fertility Society. He holds a Master’s degree in human reproduction from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos I in coordination with the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad.

Since 2003 he has been head of service at the Hospital Quirónsalud Palmaplanas in Palma de Mallorca, coordinating the care activity of 11 gynaecologists.

Dr. Gómez Palomares
Dr. Gómez Palomares, gynaecologist.

Dr. Gómez Palomares did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Son Dureta Hospital in Palma de Mallorca between 1997 and 2001. Since 2002 he has dedicated himself exclusively to reproductive medicine. He has been a medical visitor at the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York.

He holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Cantabria and is a member of the Spanish Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, the Spanish Fertility Society and the Association for the Study of Reproductive Biology (ASEBIR).
